Green Cemeteries

Natural burial has been on my mind quite a bit lately. There are very few green cemeteries in the U.S., nor many around the world. I would like to see natural burial as an option for everyone at the end of their life. Take a look at the Land For The People channel on YouTube.

As mentioned in another post, we’ve created playlists of interesting videos. Among them are several about natural burial.

Did you know that “backyard burial” the practice of interring loved ones on your own land is legal in most areas? There are often zoning regulations and permitting processes, some more cumbersome than others, but it is often a “permitted by right” use of land. Furthermore, laws most often do not require us to embalm, use hefty coffins or use concrete linings when arranging for the burial of our loved ones–even when working with traditional funeral homes and cemeteries.
